ME AND MY GIBSON L4 GUITAR
ME AND MY GIBSON L4 GUITAR
Early in my career I had a Gibson 400 but sold it and bought a Gibson Brydland. The Byrdland gave me a better sound for the top forty band I was working with at the time. A few years ago I wanted to get back to my jazz roots so I decided to buy a Gibson ES 175. When I was doing some research on that guitar I came across another Gibson guitar called an L4. This guitar was a step up from an ES – 175 but I could not afford to buy one.
One day I went to Berkley Music in Berkley, Michigan to buy some guitar strings and was surprised to see a used 2002 Gibson L4 for sale hanging on the wall. The asking price was within my means so I bought it. What a great sounding jazz guitar! I couldn’t believe my luck so I guess I was meant to have one.
